Mike has worked in insurance and claim management related positions in several countries for over 35 years. He has acted as advisor to several large construction projects and has also managed the claim function for two major US and energy companies.
He has provided claims management support to many North American and International companies and is a pro-active advocate for clients in both the risk management and claims fields. Mike has also acted as an expert witness in respect of insurance claims in the energy and power generation industries.

Mike is based in our Calgary, Canada office.

Michael Dean - Director (EIC Risk Consulting - London)

Mike has worked in London for many international clients since joining Wm. Elmslie & Son in the early 1980’s. He later founded Elmslie Consulting Services, which became INDECS - a claims and risk management consultancy. This company was acquired by Charles Taylor Consulting in 1998. Mike retired from CTC after many years on the main board and has now joined the EIC team.

Mike has gained extensive experience offering both claims and risk consulting services for over 30 years to clients in various industries including oil & gas, construction and marine. He has provided advice to many of the worlds largest energy companies and has been involved in many well known and sizeable insurance claims including Piper Alpha and Exxon Valdez.

Mike works with our sister company EIC Risk Consulting in London, UK.

Nicholas Roper - Account Executive, Canada

• Currently obtaining his Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation

Nick has worked in the insurance and claim management industry for 5 years with consultancies in both Canada and the UK. He provides cost and coverage analysis, as well as document management, on a number of large oil and gas claims and is the account executive responsible for managing a number of EIC's Canadian and International clients. He has also worked on a number of large Canadian construction projects and on both construction and manafacturing claims.

Nick is based in our Calgary, Canada office.

Paul Martin - Senior Consultant (EIC Risk Consulting - London)

• Member of the Institute of Risk Management (MIRM)

Paul has worked in the insurance and risk management industry for over 15 years.  His experience includes underwriting in the marine sector for large multinational companies as well as running successful captive management firms in the offshore environment.  

Paul supports Mike Dean as part of our EIC Risk Consulting team in London, UK.

Lloyd Kortbeek - Technical Consultant (e2i2 Consulting Inc.)

EICCM utilizes the engineering expertise of Lloyd Kortbeek who is the President of e2i2 Consulting Inc. Lloyd has over 17 years of experience with industrial equipment, systems and processes. He has over 10 years of claim support experience, including 3 years as a specialized energy loss adjuster. Lloyd provides claim focused forensic engineering services including incident investigation and valuation.
